Artists Profile
My love of art, period costume, colour, photography and architecture from around the globe inspire me to create unique and individual textiles in which I use a wide range of materials. I have extensive experience of working in both the floristry and wedding industry where I have been able to hone my skills in beading and embroidery and I have attained a degree in Design: Photography.
It was whilst working as a seamstress for a bridal boutique that I became aware of how much fabric is wasted. I soon began to create works that made use of 'upcycling' these discarded precious fabrics, threads, embellishments and 'findings'. I pride myself on using as many recycled materials as possible sourced from discarded dressmakers offcuts, recycling centres and charity shops.
I have completed a number of textile and photographic pieces for private collectors, created numerous bridal outfits and acessories and have a selection of work for sale in three South West based stores; Sew Bazaar, Bunyip Beads and Buttons and Ida's Country Corner.
My work is for sale in my online stores on Folksy, Etsy and Bigcartel. Commissions are always welcome so feel free to contact me .
