Artists Profile

INSPIRATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Working out of my home studio based in West London, my love of art, period costume, photography and architecture inspire me to create unique and individual textiles. I have extensive experience of working in both the Floristry and Wedding industry and I have a BA Hons in Design Photography.

BRIDAL WEAR, CLOTHING AND FASCINATORS:
I believe in working together with a client to create a unique garment or item that incorporates their ideas with my wealth of knowledge. 

CREATIVE TEXTILE WORK:
Whilst working as a seamstress for a bridal boutique I became aware of how much fabric is wasted in the industry. I soon began to create works that made use of 'upcycling' these discarded precious fabrics, threads, embellishments and 'findings'. I pride myself on using as many recycled materials as possible sourced from discarded dressmakers offcuts, recycling centres and charity shops.

TEACHING:
I am available for individual and group lessons in a range of sewing and textiles areas for both adults and children. I am CRB cleared and currently teach a childrens sewing club at a school in Camden. To find out more about lessons feel free to contact me.

WORKS FOR SALE:
I have a selection of work for sale in three South West based stores; Sew Bazaar, Bunyip Beads and Buttons and Ida's Country Corner. My work is also for sale in my online stores - Folksy, Etsy and Bigcartel. Commissions are always welcome so feel free to contact me.
